Phi Group acted as main contractor to carry out the setting out, bulk excavation and cart away to enable Phi's own Ground Engineering team to construct the soil nailed, Soil Panel SN structure.

Solution:
Phi Group's solution was chosen in preference to others as it minimised the quantity of excavated material which would need to be removed from site, the soil nail solution also greatly reduced the amount of imported stone which would have been needed in a gravity wall solution.

| Face area is over 500sqm and the nail length varied between 1.5 - 4.8 metres, with the wall length being 125 metres. In terms of programme, this solution proved far quicker than traditional methods with the works being completed in 5 weeks. |
